I have seven years experience in the field of theater design and production, with three years specifically devoted to the study of properties design, construction, and management.  I recently graduated from the California Institute of the Arts with a Masters Degree in Properties Design & Management.  Previously, I studied scenic and lighting design at the University of California, Santa Barbara where I received my BA in Scenic and Lighting Design as well as a minor in the History of Art and Architecture.  While there, I also gained extensive management experience working as an Assistant Master Electrician and began my love of props wile building numerous shows in the scene shop.

At CalArts, I have gained skills both as a properties artisan and a properties master.  As an artisan, I am able to work in a multitude of media; from metal fabrication welding and forging to soft goods, fabric and upholstery, and from woodworking to various materials used for sculpting, casting and molding.  As a manager, I have gained a wealth of experience over my past three years here.  I am confident in my ability to create a budget & build schedule and to keep others updated on what needs to be accomplished.  I also have excellent communication and research skills that are invaluable for tracking down specific objects and materials.  I love the challenge that comes with tracking down the most important details and venturing out into the community to find the information and the objects that make the show.
